Havurah

TEMPLE SHALOM INVITES YOU TO JOIN A HAVURAH!!!

Are you interested in making new friends, having fun, creating an extended family and enriching your Jewish life in Naples? In today’s society, we often live far away from our extended families and long time friends.   Joining a Havurah at Temple Shalom provides you with an opportunity to establish meaningful relationships within the larger Temple community.

All Temple adults are invited to join a Havurah.  Whether you have no kids living at home, young kids or teenagers in religious school; whether you are married, single, divorced, widowed or living with a significant other; whether you are full-time or part-time – Temple Shalom wants to help you join a Havurah.  You will be “matched up” with others who have similar interests and requests.

The word Havurah, derived from the Hebrew word haver or friend, means fellowship with the plural being Havurot.  Each Havurah typically meets on a monthly basis to share a Jewish extended family experience.  Each Havurah determines for itself how often it will meet, how many members it will have, and what its focus and programs will be.  Many have even picked a name!
