Yiddish Concert with Susan Berkson

Yiddish music.
Cantor Berkson was ordained in 1989 at the Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music in New York. She was the cantor at Temple Emanuel in Kensington, MD and has also served as the cantor of Temple Adas Shalom, Havre de Grace, MD and Congregation Or Chadash, Germantown, MD. Besides teaching private voice at her home studio, she is part of the adjunct faculty at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD, and has recorded her first CD of Jewish liturgical and life cycle music, “Life as a Song”. Cantor Berkson has performed in venues such as the National Cathedral in Washington, Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, Town Hall in New York, The Shrine in Los Angeles, and performed a Yiddish art song recital for the noontime series at The Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC.
