What You Can Do
What you can do:
-
Join the Tikkun Olam Volunteers– you are welcome to join the TOV. We meet monthly, in addition to the many social action and social justice programs we sponsor throughout the year.
Participate in TOV events at the Temple.
Learn about local issues by participating in the TOV Food Insecurity Forums. Videos of past sessions can be viewed online.
The Temple has many vehicles for developing one’s spirituality through involvement in the Temple Shalom community. We invite you and your family to use the resources of the Temple by becoming involved and volunteering in the many groups and projects we have to offer. If you have an idea for a project, let us know. We are always interested in new ideas.
-
Donate to your favorite cause.
Send in your ideas – There are so many worthwhile causes which cry out for our attention. If you become aware of a particular need or project for which you would like support, please let us know!
Incorporate the spirit of tikkun olam into your daily life by being kind to the people around you. Every day. If you’re feeling emotional distress about the state of the world, so are your neighbors. Be kind. Be encouraging. Lend a hand. Give a smile to someone who needs a smile, treat with respect each person whose path you cross in the course of your day.
Turn your faith into action and help build a better world.
“I never did anything alone. Whatever was accomplished in this country was accomplished collectively.”
