What is the Hangout?
The Hangout at Shalom is a premier after-school program for local students in grades K-5. Temple Shalom will pick up students from their elementary schools and transport them back to our campus via 15- passenger vans. Once students arrive, they will be given a healthy chef prepared snack, homework help, and a variety of hands-on, educational activities to enjoy. Activities include: baking, arts and crafts, STEM, yoga, sports, music, drama, and more! In addition to these included activities, you have the option to add on specialized lessons and tutoring sessions (for an additional fee determined by the individual providers). Specialized lessons offered include (among others): piano, chess, soccer, karate, Hebrew, and tumbling.
WHAT SCHOOLS DOES THE HANGOUT INTEND TO SERVE?
The Hangout van will pick your children up (from select schools) and bring them to our campus (pickup is at 5:30 from Temple Shalom). If your child attends a school we do not pick up from, we can help create carpools to facilitate your child's safe arrival. The following schools are the ones we currently serve:

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The Hangout at Shalom is full-service! That means there aren't separate charges for transportation, homework help, activities, or healthy snacks. Membership at Temple Shalom is not required, but we would love to welcome you. If you do decide to join our Temple family, you will receive a generous discount on your rates.

Regular (Beginning June 14, 2024) - $150

*Only Temple Shalom members are eligible to enroll students for 1 and 2 days per week.
You can make one annual payment in full and receive a 3% discount or spread your payments out over the year (monthly). If you start after the first day of the school year, annual tuition will be prorated. We accept payments by e-check or credit card. There is a fee for credit cards. *There is no fee for cancellation.
DO YOU OFFER ANY ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS?
We are proud to offer a sibling discount of 5% off the oldest child’s annual tuition to families with two or more children. We also offer a Temple Shalom Preschool Alumni discount of 5% per student. These discounts will be applied by our office after enrollment. *Only one of these discounts is allowed per family.
