Big-Tent Judaism: Calling All Believers, Doubters, Atheists and Agnostics

Sundays, November 9, December 7, January 11 (11:30am), March 15 (offsite), May 3 (offsite) at 10:30am
Stephen Saks Classroom in the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center
It has often been said that Judaism is a religion of deed not creed. In other words, there is no one catechism of faith and belief to which all Jews must subscribe. There exists in Judaism a multiplicity of theological options which encompasses a wide spectrum of ideas about God, Torah, Israel, ethics, the soul, prayer, and Jewish identity. Whether you are a full-fledged believer, a fence-sitting doubter, a questioning agnostic, or even a card-carrying atheist, there is room for you in the big tent we call the Jewish faith. This course is for everyone along the continuum of belief, from the religiously committed to those who feel theologically alienated from normative Judaism.
